Job Description
Assists the Superintendent in the working supervision of installation of underground utilities. Leads pipe crew on the jobsite and is responsible for on time, safe and high quality delivery of underground utility installations. Will periodically require finish grading, paving and sidewalk restoration related to utility installations.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Operation of a variety of equipment suitable to meet the specifics of the project
- Excavation and installation of project’s underground utilities system
- Perform inspection of site to determine location of exactions
- Locate existing utilities and underground obstructions
- Comply with federal, state, and local codes and ordinances
- Inspect installation to ensure quality construction
- Manage a crew on a daily basis
- Complete work orders to meet project schedule
- Ensure on site equipment is maintained in a proper fashion
- Instruct crew in proper construction procedures
