About the Project

This project consisted of the replacement of the existing rooftop chiller unit, including all electrical upgrades and associated roofing work. This project was unique as we were tasked to perform the entire shut down and replacement of the Chiller Unit in two days’ time. We partnered with WW Gay Mechanical and Adkins Electric, to ensure that we had the expertise to deliver a high-quality project in an extremely limited amount of time. With thorough planning, we were able to work with JEA to be on the job site with our electricians at 5 a.m. on Saturday morning to disconnect the secondary power service at the underground transformer vault. Eighteen hours later, after deconstructing the existing chiller unit, installing an upgraded power supply to the new unit, and completing all of our electrical work to get the building ready to go back on line, we were able to reconnect the permanent power service. All of our work was substantially complete by the end of the day on Sunday, and the building users were able to reoccupy the building on Monday to proceed with business as usual.
